Hands-on video: Updating eWON's firmware using eBuddy

For the eWON firmware upgrade, eBuddy will send the firmware file to the eWON using an FTP connection.

eBuddy realizes the FTP connection in active mode.
In active mode, the FTP client opens a random port (> 1023), sends the FTP server the random port number on which it is listening over the control stream and waits for a connection from the FTP server.

So if you are using a Firewall (on your PC or for your Internet connection) then you will probably need to configure the firewall to allow the FTP access in active modem.

On the PC firewall, the easiest is to allow exceptions coming from the program "eBuddy".
