How to change the Country Code of a PSTN modem?

By default, PSTN modem are delivered with the CountryCode B5 (USA, Canada).
note: The practice shows that this code works well in Europe too.

The list of the country code is available at the MultiTech global modem page.
On this page, select the Country desired and MT5600SMI (as Modem Type).

For instance, if you select Belgium, you will see that you need to use FD as CountryCode.

  1. In the eWON Modem Init String, type AT+GCI=FD       and update.
    Now, the new CountryCode is saved in the ModemConfigMemory.
  2. Clear the eWON Modem Init String to return to the default one ... and update.

To verify if the CountryCode is well saved:

  1. Reboot your eWON
  2. Go the Diagnostics->Status->Info page and you will see the current CountryCode in the Modem Extended information field.
