If you want to switch your eWON from a Talk2M Free account to your Talk2M Go/Pro account remotely and securely, you need to use the RemoteWizard functionality of the eWON.

RemoteWizard feature is available on firmware 5.7s0 (and above).

This procedure will do the following:

  1. Execute automatically the Talk2M connection Wizard.
  2. If the wizard succeeds, perfect, job's done.
  3. If the wizard failed, the eWON will rollback to the previous configuration.
    In our case, the eWON will reconnect itself to Talk2M Free 

Practically, to switch your eWON from Talk2M Free to Talk2M Go/Pro do the following:

  1. create your eWON in your Talk2M Go/Pro account and copy the Activation Key into the remotewizard.txt file.

    If you create your file yourself, respect strictly the format and case of all the lines.
     
  2. Connect through Talk2M Free to your eWON.
    Place this remotewizard.txt file in the /usr directory of the eWON.
    Don't rename this file.
     
  3. Go on Configuration->SystemSetup->Storage->Reboot
    and select the "Enable Remote Wizard" Special Operation and click on the REBOOT buttonRemoteWizard02.png
     

Now, the eWON will reboot, connect itself to Internet and restart the Talk2M Wizard with the parameter from the remotewizard.txt file.

Normally, the eWON will disappears from your Talk2M Free account, and appear into your Talk2M Go/Pro account.

If the wizard doesn't connect succesfully to the Talk2M Go/Pro account, the eWON will rollback to the Talk2M Free config and then connects to the Free account.
Go again on the eWON and consult the events to see what was the problem.
Could be a wrong Activation Code, a remotewizard.txt wrongly formatted, ...
Once you fixed the problem, restart the procedure.

 

Note: We tried to simplify and secure as much as possible the procedure to switch from one Talk2M account to another Talk2M account. Please bear in mind that this switch operation remains, for the eWON, a very complex change operation (modification of all the VPN keys, server addresses, etc). The rollback operation will allow recovery the eWON on the original Talk2M account if the remote wizard failed. Note, we cannot guarantee this to be 100% fail proof.

 

Talk2M Free to Talk2M Free switch

If you want to change your eWON from one Free account to another Free account, follow the same procedure but use the talk2m_free_eu Access Server.
